Diwali is popular Hindu festival celebrating the age old story of good winning over evil and the triumphant return home of Lord Rama, his wife Sita and his brother Lakshman after an epic battle with his foe Ravana. BIOS

Kamaljeet Ahluwalia is a leading disciple of legendary Santoor maestro Pandit Shivkumar Sharma.  She uses her Indian classical roots to walk an innovative path on the Santoor, a rare and exquisite hammered dulcimer/zither. Her performances begin by taking audiences inward on an emotional and spiritual journey, then moves on to simultaneously explore vast sublime melodies and intricate detailed rhythmic patterns of Raag and Taal, that gradually build up to an energy filled crescendo.

Jas Ahluwalia studied the illustrious Tabla under world renowned artist Ustad Tari Khan. He brings an unparalleled emotional depth and intelligence to his performances. His thoughtful accompaniment elevates any piece to heights.

Together this husband and wife duo founded production company Absolute Focus and have worked with Disney’s Jungle book Live, Mira Royal Detective, Apple documentaries and facebook amongst others. They have composed music for live theater, film and cultural projects and strive to spread Indian Classical music to new audiences.
