Join us for our first concert in 2022!
We are delighted to be presenting MD-based Indian Classical Vocalist Samia Mahbub Ahmad. The concert will explore the age-old tradition of master apprenticeship, a celebration of seasons (Spring), Ramadan (Sufi), recognition of women’s strength (Meera), and a dedication to the life-changing COVID-19 experience through raga-based song compositions. She will be accompanied by Debu Nayak on tabla, Shreyas Ravi on harmonium, and Abraar Rafi Ahmad on clarinet.
In her own words, “ Music and my worldview are inseparable. In how we celebrate our Gurus (teachers), nurture our students, express the wonderment of the beauty of nature, rejoice in our life's happinesses, grieve our losses. Resplendent in the ragas, there seems to be songs to fit every story of our lives.”
