Presented by District of Raga, in collaboration with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Aditya Prakash Trio featuring Aditya Prakash on vocal and percussion, Erika Dohi on piano, and Kamalakiran on violin is a performance that explores a genre-fluid space by musicians who have deep roots in the classical traditions of Karnatik and Western. The performance will feature melodically experimental explorations unraveling points of connection between the “contemporary and traditional” by pushing the boundaries of raga and playing with dissonance, harmony, beauty, and tension. The performance is in response to the Celebration of Diwali, a festival commonly associated with the triumph of awareness, compassion, and illumination over hate, ignorance, and darkness.
For all Millennium Stage performances, a limited number of advance reservations are available on a first come, first served basis. Advance reservations do not guarantee a seat, and patrons are encouraged to arrive early. Click here to reserve tickets.
