Hailed by Pitchfork as “jaw-dropping…one of the finest saxophonists going,” alto saxophonist, composer, and educator Rudresh Mahanthappa is renowned as a premier voice in jazz. Mahanthappa makes up one third of the Hero Trio, along with bassist François Moutin and drummer Rudy Royston. The Trio’s recent release, Animal Crossing, includes exciting renditions of music by Pat Metheny, Chuck Mangione, and George Michael, as well the title track from the famous video game.
